Seguro más de uno ha leído y releído mi bio y se ha preguntado "Ana está enamorada ¿Quién será ese Ávila?" Esta intro cursi va dedicada a aquellos que no se han puesto a hablar con un venezolano o al menos, no le han prestado mucha atención, así que empezaré a hablar del tono más rosa de mi Señor Ávila ¡NO! tampoco es que estoy enamorada de un señor (aunque el Ávíla merece ese sustantivo), imagínense, yo no soy la única enamorada de este señor, otros caraqueños como mi favorito Aquiles Nazoa se dirigía así al majestuoso cerro que tenemos en la capital, el Sr. Ávila. Una de las cosas más lindas que tenemos los Caraqueños es eso, el cerro Ávila, un magnifico paisaje que nos llena los ojos al despertar y nos saca suspiros al estar de mal humor.

Sí, hoy les presento a mi amado Ávila, la razón por la que adoro ser caraqueña. Reitero, el Ávila es un cerro ubicado al norte de Caracas, separa la costa norte con lo que es la capital. Evidentemente el Ávila estuvo ahí desde que el primer indígena que habitaba el valle tuvo conciencia, pero fue llamado así desde 1778. Originariamente se le conocía como "Waraira Repano" y la historia de por qué el Ávila existe me fascina, pero ya será cuando tengamos más tiempo. Por ahora el paseo por el cual les guiare será a través del teleférico ubicado en él, donde lo que veremos será apenas una pequeña parte de él porque este parque tiene miles de atractivos que no pueden dejar de conocer.
Yes, today I introduce you to my beloved Avila, the reason I love being from Caracas. I reiterate The Avila is a mountain located at north of Caracas, separates the north coast from the capital. Evidently The Avila was there since first the first native who lived in the valley was conscious, but was named like that since 1778. Originally it was known as "Waraira Repano" and the story of why The Ávila exists fascinates me, but it will be when we have more time. For now the walk which you will be guided, it will be the cable car is located in it, where what we see is only a small part of it because this park has thousands of attractions that cannot miss.
Cómo llegar / How to get
El Teleférico está ubicado en el sector Maripérez de la Capital, a las orillas de la autopista Cota Mil. Tiene dos únicas paradas, el principio en Maripérez y el final del recorrido en la cima del pico. Los funiculares se toman en el terminal de Maripérez o perfectamente se puede hacer el recorrido tomando el funicular una vez arriba. Él terminal cuenta con estacionamiento dispuesto a los usuarios y otros pequeños servicios. Por supuesto, al Parque El Ávila también se puede llegar a través de caminatas y disfrutar de él sin hacer uso del Teleférico. Anteriormente el Teleférico contaba con una tercera parada ubicada al otro lado de la montaña, donde nos podemos encontrar con la costa, por ahora este servicio no se encuentra disponible.
The cable car is located at Maripérez, urbanization from Caracas, at the edge of 'Cota Mil' highway. It has two only stops, the first one at Maripérez where you take the cable car, ending at the top which is the second and final stop. Maripérez station is provided with parking lots for passangers and other miscelaneous services. Of course, it is also possible to reach the top walking and enjoy it without using the cable car. Before, the cable car had a third stop located at the other side of the mountain where you could find the coast but by now, this service is not available.
En la cima del Teleférico las opciones de entretenimiento son variadas. Se puede hacer el recorrido desde la estación de funiculares hasta el emblemático Hotel Humbolt (por motivos de remodelación no pude hacer fotos, se los debo), gozar de un chocolate caliente, disfrutar de ciertas actividades o tratar de mantener el equilibrio en la única pista de hielo de Caracas. También se puede ir hasta el pueblo de Galipán haciendo uso de jeeps ubicados en la estación. Se pueden encontrar los más amplios servicios: juegos infantiles, establecimientos de comida y souvenirs, discoteca, restaurant y hasta un parque infantil.

You can find the widest range of services: children's games, food outlets and souvenir shops, nightclub, restaurant and even a playground.

Anacapri Tips
- Para cada paseo, usa ropa cómoda, sobre todo zapatos bajos y con los que no te resbales.
- Lleva ropa abrigada. Tampoco es que te vas a llevar dos kilos de capas, pero un sweater no está de más.
- Y como siempre, SÉ CONSIENTE. Los paseos no los disfrutas tú sólo, sino también otros, que al igual que tú, quieren conseguir un sitio limpio y en buen estado.
- For any ride, use comfortable clothes, low and anti-slip shoes.
- Wear warm clothes. Not too much but a sweater is enough.
- As always, BE CONSCIOUS. You are not the only one who going to enjoy the ride, also others that want to find a clean place as much as you want.
