Gigi Hadid: from front row to runway

Maybe it is not the first time you see this girl in the media, like his BFF Kendall Jenner, is best known for being part of a reality show (Housewives of Beverly Hills). But despite this, Gigi has been the face of Guess from two years old, and although it is from this year that she has become more noticeable, was hardly the last year she debuted in the major runways of the world, modeling for Desigual and Jeremy Scott.

But certainly 2015 was her year, she became the face of Maybelline, is cover of Vogue Spain and Teen Vogue in March, and the latter was guest editor of Instagram to narrate his own experience in backstage of NYFW. Her clothing captivated on best dressed celebrities during each of the shows to which she attended; but not only was invited to criticize the new collections of major fashion, also highlighted as a model, making competition to her best friend wearing the best clothes in the most important runways of NYFW Fall 2015. If you ask me, I love Kendall but Gigi is lovely and more chameleon than Jenner. Who is your favorite? To decide, I leave you some pictures of her runway and some street style, because she has a style that could be my new crush icon.

A lo mejor no sea la primera vez que ven a esta chica en los medios, al igual que su BFF Kendall Jenner, es mejor conocida por ser parte de un reality show (Housewives of Berverly Hills). Pero a pesar de esto, Gigi ha sido imagen de Guess desde los dos años, y aunque es a partir de este año en que se ha hecho notar más, fue a penas el año pasado que se estrenó en las pasarelas más importantes del mundo, desfilando para Desigual y Jeremy Scott. 

Pero sin duda el 2015 ha sido su año, se convirtió en imagen de Maybelline, es portada de Vogue España y Teen Vogue para el mes de marzo, y para este último fue editora invitada de Instagram para narrar su propia experiencia en backstage del NYFW, acaparó los artículos de celebridades mejores vestidas durante cada uno de los shows a los que asistió; pero no sólo fue invitada a criticar las nuevas colecciones de los grandes de la moda, también destacó como modelo, haciéndole  competencia a su mejor amiga luciendo los mejores trajes en las pasarelas más destacadas de NYFW Fall 2015. Si me preguntan, yo amo a Kendall, pero Gigi es encantadora y mucho más camaleónica que Jenner. New York Fashion Week: runway SS 2015

I could not let September without talking about the most beautiful it has (because what makes it ugly is back to school) the Fashion Week, and as for now is on my to-do list, I will be putting into practice my critical eye pretending to be Anna Wintour, with this compilation of my favorite collections and runways. This MBNYFW was quite interesting, between the Ice Bucket Challenge by Tim Gunn and projected 4D Polo Ralph Lauren runway, the Fashion Week became curious. Definitely my favorites have a common thread and very consistent with what I understand spring-summer, but certainly each runways shines by itself.

I must start with the Venezuelan talent, such to be proud of, although I think I admire Carolina Herrera for her work, not her nationality. Anyway, both Venezuelans contributed beauties to fashion week: Carolina Herrera slightly modernized their respective elegance, and Angel Sanchez being more daring than ever. Following this feminine and seductive vibe we have Badgley Mischka, I was intrigued with the use of delicate textures, colors and belts framing the feminine silhouette. My all-time favorite that never fails, BCBG Max Azria incorporated fluency with certain Asian air, while Tory Burch little steals my gaze, this time he did it with prints and sporty chic touches. And of course, the king of refinement could not leave out, Oscar de la Renta. Meanwhile, Anna Sui runway filled with perfect boho chic outfits, but this time, cosmic environment. Going to the other extreme, in the midst of all this we have the Ralph Lauren safari trend reinvented with some amazing statement pieces. Now, let's start with rebellious. Coach this time targets a bolder public armed with pastel colored outfits full of attitude. My beloved Kate Spade contributed eccentricity but in a minimalist note. And finally we have Skingraft definitively characterized as modern, fresh, young, minimalist, giving the example that leggings are only used with long garments.

No podía dejar pasar septiembre sin hablar de lo más bonito que tiene (porque lo que lo hace feo es el regreso a clases), el Fashion Week, y como por ahora está en mi to-do list, iré poniendo en práctica mi ojo crítico con complejo de Anna Wintour con esta recopilación de mis pasarelas y colecciones favoritas. Este MBNYFW fue bastante interesante, entre el Ice Bucket Challenge de Tim Gunn y la pasarela proyectada en 4D de Polo Ralph Lauren, el Fashion Week se puso curioso. Sin duda mis favoritos tienen un hilo común y muy acorde a lo que yo entiendo por primavera-verano, pero sin duda, cada pasarela brilla por sí misma.    

Debo empezar con el talento venezolano, con ese que te llena de orgullo, aunque considero que a Carolina Herrera la admiro por su trabajo, no por su nacionalidad. En fin, ambos venezolanos aportaron bellezas al fashion week: Carolina Herrera modernizando un poco su respectiva elegancia, y Ángel Sánchez siendo más atrevido que nunca. Siguiendo con esta vibra femenina y seductora tenemos a Badgley Mischka, que me cautivó con el uso de delicadas texturas, colores y cinturones que enmarcan la silueta femenina. Mi favorito de siempre y que nunca falla, BCBG Max Azria incorporó fluidez con ciertos aires asiáticos, mientras que Tory Burch que poco roba mi mirada, esta vez lo logró con estampados y toques sporty chic. Y por su puesto, el rey de lo refinado no se podía dejar por fuera, Oscar de la Renta. Por su parte, Anna Sui llenó la pasarela con perfectos estilismos boho chics, pero esta vez, medio cósmico. Yendo hacia el otro extremo, en el medio de todo esto tenemos a Ralph Lauren que se reinventó la tendencia safari con unas alucinantes statement pieces. Ahora, empecemos por lo rebelde. Coach esta vez se dirige a un público más audaz, armado con tonos pasteles en estilismos llenos de actitud. Mi amada Kate Spade aportó excentricidad pero en una nota minimalista. Y para terminar tenemos a Skingraft que definitivamente se caracteriza por ser moderno, fresco, juvenil, minimalista y dando el ejemplo de que los leggins solo se usan con prendas largas.

MBNYFW Runway + Street style

Las fashion weeks (sobre todo el de New York) hacen suspirar a más de uno, puede que suene un tanto banal, pero para los verdaderos fashionistas, esos que piensan que la moda es un arte, las Fashion Weeks son una especie de mundial de fútbol para los fanáticos de tal deporte. En este post, les traigo unos cuantos suspiros y sueños en su versión compuesta de hilos y telas; un pequeño resumen de las colecciones que desfilaron en la pasarela más importante del mundo, más un poco de inspiración desde las calles de la Gran Manzana.

Fashion Weeks (especially New York’s FW) do sigh to more than one; this could sound a little bit trivial, but for the real fashionists, those who think that fashion is art; the fashion weeks are a kind of soccer world cup or super bowl if you compare them with sport fans. In this post, I bring to you some sighs and dreams on their version of “yarns and fabrics”; a small recap of the collections that have been on the most important runway around the world, also a bit of inspiration from the Big Apple’s streets.
